For our container feeder vessels we are looking for candidates for the position of master.

As master you have the executive authority and the final responsibility for all operations throughout the entire ship. You ensure efficient operation of the ship in compliance with international- & national rules and regulations and also in respect of company values and policies.

Our shipping company

JR Shipping is a shipping company with a rich maritime tradition. Harlingen is our home port. Our organisation ashore, which coordinates and manages our fleet’s operations, is based there. The JR Shipping fleet comprises container feeder vessels and SeaZip offshore service and support vessels, and the charter sailing ship Clipper Stad Amsterdam. Approximately 30 maritime professionals work at the organisation ashore. Our crewing department is responsible for recruiting and selecting seamen and for the human resources policy in respect of the JR Shipping and SeaZip crew members.

As a master of JR Shipping we expect you to:

  • Take full responsibility in all aspects concerning the ship’s crew, safety, seaworthiness, cargo operations and environment.
  • Strive for an excellent performance of the vessel and her crew. By pursuing the organizational objectives, -values & -culture where safety- & environmental awareness, quality of work, care for crew and social security are essential components.
  • Be the promotor and protector of the company culture, to lead by example and to give feedback frequently to all stakeholders.
  • Be the company’s representative and for a professional- & commercial cooperation with charterers.
